We use several methods at various stages of the mail delivery process to block spammers, some are employed locally on our servers and others are recognised collaborations that maintain global blacklists. Our mail servers cross reference both the IP addresses and DNS names found in the headers of all emails passing through our system. |

| * SPAM – Just in case this needs explaining SPAM is the junk email that we all get daily. It has been accused of being the source and carrier of viruses costing companies worldwide millions of pounds. It is definitely the cause of many of the slow networks that we all experience and leaving the small home or office network and entering the world of the globally connected internet mail network, here too the mail servers and routers that carry normal internet traffic also have to carry the billions of junk emails too. |
